Frank D. Martino, a 38 year resident of Fairlawn, passed away November 20, 2010, with his family by his side. Born April 9, 1919, in Albany, NY, he was the beloved husband for almost 48 years of Phyllis (nee: Higgins). Loving father of Michael (Binnie) and Lisa Martino Boyd. Devoted grandfather of Caroline Boyd, Gabrielle Martino, and Marissa Boyd. A proud Veteran serving in the US Army Air Force as a 1st Sargent in Africa and Italy from December 25, 1942 through August 15, 1945, receiving 4 battle stars. Former president of the International Chemical Workers Union for 26 years retiring in 2001, and former Commander of the Fairlawn V.F.W. Post #349.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 29, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Catavolos Funeral Home 3653 West Market St. Fairlawn, where funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
