Gladys I. Buckmaster

Irene was born on April 12, 1920 in Penzance Cornwall, England to Thomas and Elizabeth (Reynolds) James. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1939. Irene was married on October 3, 1942 to Harold Boothe and they were married for 40 years until his passing. They had 2 children, Marjorie and Carol. She was employed by the Polsky Company in the foundation department for many years. Irene was active in the Fairlawn Friendly Folk and TOPS. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle at Christ Woodland United Methodist Church and she was a faithful Christian all her life. She shared the later part of her life with second husband, Robert Buckmaster, who predeceased her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, sisters, Muriel, Dora, and Betty, brother, Clifford, and daughter-in-law, Elaine.

Irene will be deeply missed by her daughters, Marjorie Green, and Carol Dezso, special niece, Marlene (Ian) Hawkridge, granddaughter, Tracy (Steven) Ocepek, grandson, David (Samantha) Green, and great-grandchildren, Charles, Joel, Benjamin, and Evelyn Grace Ocepek.

Friends and family may come to call on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Fairlawn. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Woodland United Methodist Church.
