Mary Elise Clift

Mary Elise Clift answered the call of our Heavenly Father and entered into eternal rest and peace on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:30 a.m. She was born April 13, 1939, and was one of nine children born to Robert and Mother Emma Hill.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Hill; father, Robert Hill; stepfather, Raymond Hill; husband, Albert Clift; brothers, Joseph (Joe) Hill, Samuel (Shock) Davis, and Richard Alexander; grandparents, Bob and Addie Fuqua.

Sister Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. In her later years, she was a member of the Akron Apostolic Church of Akron, Ohio. She was a member of the Akron Eastern Star. She attended Townsend High School where she played basketball. She was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her sisters – Sarah Patton of Winchester, Gladys Stovall of Estill Springs, Barbara (Mike) Blackwell, Juliette Taylor, Alice Davis all of Winchester and Elizabeth Woodruff of Murfreesboro; one brother, Raymond (Gale) Hill; son, William (Karen) Franklin; sister in law, Teresa Alexander; five stepchildren, Denise Fears, Wanda (Juewon) Green, Jeffrey Clift, Veronica (William) Ryan and Elaine Clift; her caregiver who she helped raise, Renee Singfield and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Home Going Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
