Born on September 19, 1979 in Akron, Ohio. Graduated from North High School in 1999. Michael lived the majority of his life in Canton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Earl and Catherine Freeman and his grandparents Charles and Margit Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his father Harry Freeman and stepfather Leroy Hackenberg.
Michael had a long career as an Ice Cream Truck Vendor, and after several years ran his own Ice Cream Truck Vendor business.
Michael passed on October 14th, 2025 after a short illness at the age of 46.
He will be sadly missed by his mother Marsha Hackenberg and brother Earl Nelson, his nephew Carter, and many uncles, cousins, and friends. Michael will be cremated and inurned with his grandmother at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333.
There will not be a service of bereavement. There will be a small service at the graveside upon his burial at Rose Hill at a later date.
All remembrances may be made to your local pet shelter or ASPCA in his name of his favorite pet Rocky.
