Nada Marich, 79, of Copley, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for others.
Nada was truly a saint of a woman. She gave her time, her smile, and her energy freely to anyone who needed it, never asking for anything in return. Selflessness was simply who she was. Her presence alone could lift spirits, and she had a rare and special ability to light up any room she entered.
She was born on September 18, 1946, in Irig, Yugoslavia, where she met and married the love of her life, John Marich. In 1970, Nada immigrated to the United States with her husband and young son, beginning a new chapter rooted in family, faith, and hard work. She made her home in Northeast Ohio, where she built a life centered around caring for those she loved and serving her community.
Nada was a devoted and longtime member of the Serbian Orthodox community and was actively involved in churches throughout the Akron area, including St. Peter and Paul Church in Norton, Ohio, and St. Demetrius Church in Copley, Ohio. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and was reflected in the compassion and grace she showed to everyone she encountered.
She had a warm heart, a gentle strength, and a compassion that touched countless lives. Whether through quiet acts of service, words of encouragement, or a simple heartfelt conversation, she made people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their laughter and spending time together cooking, meal preparation for holiday events and playing card games.
Nada’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the light she brought into the world.
She is survived by her sons, Goran (Niki) Marich and Ryko (Sandy) Marich; her grandchildren, Jordon (Danielle), Savanah, Amalija, Ariana, Abigail, and Luka; her great-granddaughter, Mila; and many dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Nada was preceded in death by her husband, John Marich, her father Živan Gruich, and her mother Sophia Gruich.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7pm followed by Opelo at 7pm on Friday January 30, 2026 at the Rose Hill Funeral Home at 3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 31, 2026 at 11am at St Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church at 3106 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333.
