

Paul E. Izzo, age 71, of Copley, passed away August 6, 2012, leaving behind his wife of 47 years; Ruth (nee: Finegan) and his sons; Scott (Marabeth) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Craig (Kim) of Dublin, OH, Brian (Tammy) of Northville, MI, and seven grandchildren; Brennan, Mikala, Drew, Haley, Brock, Michael and Matthew.
Paul was born October 20, 1940 in Malden, Massachusetts and grew up in the Boston area. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham and earned an MBA from Northeastern University.
Paul began his career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company at its Heveatex plant in Melrose, MA as an accounting manager. During his years with Firestone, he worked in various financial positions in corporate accounting and corporate auditing and was a financial analyst and manager of foreign exchange. He traveled extensively and had relocated to Detroit and Chicago. At the time of his retirement, he was the manager of international finance in the treasury department of Firestone.
Paul was very active for many years and served as past President of the Akron Chapter of the National Association of Accountants and served as Director on the Ohio Council.
Paul participated in sports during his high school years, the sportsmanship and coaching values stayed with him. For many years he coached youth basketball and baseball teams. He remained interested in high school sports and attended many games during various sport seasons and especially enjoying the sport and school activities of his seven grandchildren. Paul was an active member and past President of the Copley All-Sports Booster Club.
Family will receive friends, Thursday, August 9, from 5-8pm at the Catavolos Funeral Home 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn. Christian funeral mass will be held Friday, 9:30am, at St. Hilary Church 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
