

Rutha Mae Wilson, a remarkable woman whose presence touched the lives of many, has left behind a legacy filled with love, faith, and unwavering devotion. Her passing on February 10, 2024, at Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls nursing home marked the end of a life that was lived with grace, compassion, and a deep connection to God.
Born in Clayton, Alabama, Rutha's journey brought her to Ohio in 1957, where she began to weave the tapestry of her life. Her unwavering faith in God was the bedrock upon which she built her existence. Rutha's relationship with the Divine was profound and unyielding, and it radiated through her every action and interaction. She exemplified the teachings of love, kindness, and forgiveness, serving as a beacon of light to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Preceded in death by husband of 45 years, Tommie L. Wilson.
Rutha's love for her family knew no bounds. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Tonya Strickland-Mack (Keith) and Theresa Singfield, and her sons, Timothy Wilson, Tommie Lee Jr, Terrance (Tammy), Trenaughter, and Todd A. Wilson. Her 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren were the jewels in her crown, and she treasured each and every one of them. Rutha's love was a force that bound her family together, creating a strong and unbreakable bond that will endure for generations to come.
Family gatherings were a source of immense joy for Rutha. She delighted in bringing her loved ones together, creating an atmosphere of warmth, laughter, and love. Her presence was the foundation upon which these gatherings thrived, and her absence will be deeply felt. Rutha had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family, enveloping them in her love and acceptance. Her home was a sanctuary of love and hospitality, where all who entered felt embraced and valued.
Alongside her love for family and her deep faith, Rutha had a passion for fishing. Her "Perfect Cast" was a testament to her skill and dedication to the sport. Fishing was not merely a hobby for Rutha; it was a way for her to connect with nature and find solace in the beauty of the world. It was yet another avenue through which she expressed her love for life, reminding us all to appreciate the simple pleasures that surround us.

Services will be held Friday, February 16th, 2024, at 1pm, at Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel and Burial Park, 3653 West Market St, Akron, OH 44333. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Friday from 10am-1pm.
