Susie was born on December 13, 1939 in Milledgeville, Georgia to E. W. Morgan and Rosie Bell Morgan.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Julius Morgan, James Morgan, and Eugene Morgan, and her loving husband Stanley Foster.
Susie is survived by daughters Sharon Foster, Vennie Foster, and Angie Foster-Barnes (Jerome); her son Brandon Foster; her grand children Miles Foster, Camron Foster-Bowden, Nina Barnes, Brianna Foster, and Taylor Foster, and great-grandchildren Amya, Mylee, and Miles. She also leaves behind many family members, friends, and godchildren.
Susie Foster was a woman of strength, compassion, creativity, and service whose presence touched countless lives. After completing her degree in Business School, Susie worked for several years as an assistant to an attorney, where her professionalism, intelligence, and dedication were deeply valued.
Beyond her career, Susie devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and community. She was an active leader in her children’s elementary school and became widely known for her commitment to youth development through her years of service as a Girl Scout leader. Susie proudly became the first leader to organize a troop trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the White House, creating unforgettable experiences and expanding the horizons of the young girls she mentored.
Her leadership extended far beyond traditional scouting activities. Susie believed in teaching service, responsibility, and awareness through hands-on experiences. Every Saturday, she organized opportunities for troop members to volunteer at a local warehouse, helping sort hangers and other donated items that would ultimately support families and individuals in need. She also invited local police officers to speak with the girls about drug awareness and personal safety, while regularly sharing lessons on nutrition, current events, and positive ways to contribute to society.
Susie was also active in the NAACP and several community organizations, where she worked to bring awareness to important social issues affecting both her family and the broader community. She believed deeply in education, advocacy, and lifting others through service and connection.
Above all, Susie cherished family, friendship, and togetherness. She and her beloved husband Stanley enjoyed entertaining friends and family during the holidays. Their holiday gatherings became treasured traditions, and the annual “Walk” event — where friends and family traveled from house to house celebrating the New Year together — was a highlight eagerly anticipated by all who knew them. Through food, fellowship, music, and love, Susie created lasting memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone blessed to know her.
The family welcomes all to an hour of calling on May 15, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service, and entombment at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W Market St., Akron, OH 44333
