Thomas T.G. Sonnie

Thomas was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 25th, 1973. He graduated from Eastlake North High School and continued on to pursue a Culinary Arts degree.

Known affectionately by his family as “T.G.”, Thomas touched the lives of nearly everyone he met with his generosity and desire to make his friends and family happy. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and had a soft spot for animals, especially his miniature dachshund, Lucky. When he wasn’t spending time with friends and family, he enjoyed working around his new house in Ravenna, Ohio, cooking meals in the kitchen, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Indians and the Cavaliers. He often displayed his devout love for sports by adorning himself with sports hats, shirts, jerseys and tennis shoes.

Thomas is survived by his parents, Eric Sonnie Sr. (Andrea Sonnie) and Toni Esser (Tim Esser), his daughter, Dezaree Stack, his fiancé and partner of eight years, Danyele Chetwynd and her children and grandchild, Sierra Landess (Jake Landess), Sariya Winters, Shalie Winters, and Beckett Landess, brothers Nick Esser (Brittany Esser), Eric Sonnie Jr., Christine Sonnie (Jonathan Sears), Chris Esser (Katie Esser), along with many other family member and friends.

A private viewing ceremony for family will be held on Sunday, December 4th, with a public memorial celebration being held on Monday, December 5th from 4:00-8:00pm at Catavolos Funeral Home in Fairlawn, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6th , starting by meeting at Catavolos Funeral Home at 10:00 am, then proceeding to lay him to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, OH.

Floral donations and monetary donations can be sent in the family's name and mailed to Catavolos Funeral Home. Monetary donations will donated to a charity of the family's choice in Thomas's name.
