

Chuck was born June 24, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. His parents were George and Eleanor (Dressel) Carter, Jr.
He married Frances Moerch, April 19, 1971 in Monroe County, MI and she survives.
He served his country in the US Navy, stationed on the USS Severn (AD-61) during WWII. He was a brakeman for the railroad and retired from Northfolk and Southern Railroad after 34 years. He was an avid CB and Ham radio operator acquiring his advanced operator classification. He was a self-educated man who called himself “a jack of all trades, master of none”. However, his family knows that to be inaccurate, since he accomplished so many things, from helping to construct his parent’s home to building linears. He enjoyed wood working.
Chuck is survived by his wife Frances Carter of Albion, IL, step-daughters; Rachelle (Eric) Homler of Butte, MT, Shari (Jeff) Lynn of Albion, IL, daughters; April (Tom) Varner of FL, Robin Page of Glasgow, KY, sons; Lawrence (Anita) Carter of Glasgow, KY, Amadeo Carter of Toledo, OH, brothers; Gordon (Liz) Carter of Swanton, OH, Jerry Carter of AZ, Randy (Florence) Carter of Lake Havasu, AZ, Mark Carter of FL, 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Michael Carter, sister; Carol Schwartz and 1 son; Ricky Carter.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Free Methodist Church in Albion, IL. Burial will be at a later date.
