

Hubert was born July 8, 1930 in Albion, IL. His parents were Glenn and Lourine (Tait) Johnson. He married Viva Lou Medley November 22, 1951 in Mountain Home, Arkansas and she preceded him in death September 12, 1987.
Hubert was a mechanic for Herschel Johnson Implement in Albion for many years. He was a veteran of US Army serving during the Korean War. Hubert was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Albion, past commander of Albion American Legion, Moose Lodge member, City Council member, Library Board member, Greater Wabash Planning Commission Board member and on the Board of Edwards County Housing Authority. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by a daughter; Sherry (Carson) Rutger of Albion, a son; Tony (Mary) Johnson of Fishers, IN, sister; Norma Briggs of Albion, brother; Ron Johnson of Albion, 7 grandchildren; Adam (Melissa) Rutger of Fairfield, IL, Audra (W.D.) Rice of Ellery, IL, Anson Rutger of Albion, Anna, Glenn, Scott, and Katie Johnson all of Fishers, IN and 1 great-grandson; Anthony Rutger of Fairfield, IL.
Hubert was preceded in by his parents, wife and brother; Herschel Johnson.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church in Albion, IL. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery in Albion with military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, Deaconess Hospice or Edwards County Senior Citizens.
