Agnes M Wright

Agnes Marie (Burch) Wright was born May 26th, 1925 to John and Arlener Burch in Albion, Michigan. She is one of the oldest living members of the Albion community.

Agnes married Arthur Wright on May 22, 1947. From this marriage, a daughter, Gwendolyn Wright was born. Agnes used her God-given talents to become a hair stylist, serving many of the residents of Albion, creating styles and looks for many decades. Additionally, Agnes opened her house to many family and friends, making her place feel like home for all. The memories from Agnes and 508 Chestnut include the many family gatherings and reunions that had her famous potato salad or a simple invitation to the back porch or living room to watch an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Judge Judy. She always surrounded herself with family and friends, where she felt most comfortable and loved. A short yet impactful phone call was her way of keeping connected and a central hub for all family information.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, John and Arlener Burch, husband Arthur Wright, and siblings Lela (Burch) Eaton, Alfred “Buddy” Burch, Mattie (Burch) Taylor, and John “Jack” Burch.

Agnes Wright transitioned on December 24th, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Gwen (Isaiah “Zip”) Bogan of Albion, Michigan, grandsons Kimani and Shea Bogan of Jackson, MI, great-grandsons Jaylin Bogan, Chaz Bogan, Cruz Bogan of Jackson and Demetrius Robinson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.

At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with the Family Hour from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Steven C. Williams officiating.
