Ardith I. Rutz

Ardith Ilene Rutz 83, formerly of Marshall, passed away Tuesday December 25, 2012 at the Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater, Michigan. She was born to Howard and Donna (Eldred) Wing of Bellevue, MI in 1929.

After Graduation from high school, Ardith worked at the Battle Creek Enquirer in the add department. Over the years she had worked many places including Corning Glass, Chemical Bank, finally retiring from American Colloid of Albion.

Ardith met her future husband, Roland Rutz at the White Rabbit Dance Hall and they were married November 6, 1948. She spent most of her married life helping him with farming, mostly dairy farming. After retiring from the dairy business the bought a farm in Marshall MI where they raised hogs then chickens. They then sold that farm and moved up north to be near their cabin until Roland’s passing in 2008. When she had the spare time Ardith enjoyed knitting, Crocheting and sewing. In fact she had been the sewing leader for a few years at the Bill Clarence 4-H Club.

Survivors include her four children David Rutz of Wasilla Alaska, Darwin (Rose) Rutz of Oxford Florida, Donna (Bob) Whitcomb of Union City and Deb Rutz of Springport, MI. Sister Norma (Richard) Gregg of Battle Creek MI, ;Brother Paul (Sue) Wing of Belleview MI. She was preceded in death besides her husband Rolland by a Son Danny and a Grandson Nathan; 2 Sisters Martha Erwin and Roberta Okley.

The Family of Mrs. Rutz would especially like to thank Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater for their Wonderful Care, Love, Compassion, and dignity shown our Mother.

According to her Wishes, Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Family and Friends will be Friday January 4, 2013 from Noon (12:00) until 1:00 P.M., at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Memorial Services for Mrs. Rutz will be Friday January 4, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Marvil officiating.
