

Carl R. Weiskittel, Sr., age 86 of Albion passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice in Jackson under the loving care of his family and hospice. He was born July 18, 1935 in Minster, Ohio the son of Joseph and Agnes (Heimann) Weiskittel and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Helen (DeFrees) Weiskittel, and sister Norma Jean and brother-in-law Werner Prenger.
Carl served our country in the United States Army National Guard and was a very proud Ohio State Alumni earning his degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He worked at Albion Malleable for 41 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. John Catholic Church, serving as a lector and a server and served as Past President of the Parish Counsel. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus as well as Past Grand Knight, District Deputy, Past President of the State Bowling Association and played on the Knights of Columbus Bowling and Golf Leagues in addition to the Harvard Golf League.
Carl was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, Jaycees and ASM International (American Society for Metals). He enjoyed bowling, golfing, puzzles (Crossword, Sudoku and jigsaw) and his winter trips to Florida. He also loved yardwork; there was no dandelion or leaf that stood a chance of survival in his lawn. Carl also loved hosting annual New Year’s Eve parties and birthday parties; lots of fond memories were made during those times. The most important things in Carl’s life were his family, his friends, his faith and OSU (not necessarily in that order).
Carl leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Jean (Fitts) Weiskittel (married Aug 6, 2010), children: Barbara Weiskittel, Deborah (John Koelsch) Weiskittel, Carl (Jane) Weiskittel, Jr., Tammera Sheets, Tracy (Todd) Preston; grandchildren: Theo (Melissa Merkel) Koelsch, Spencer Koelsch, Lauren (Fiancée, Mitch) Crooks, Donovan (Brittany) Leonard, Emily Splawn, Haley Preston, Noelle Preston and sister Janet and brother-in-law Wally Steinbrunner.
Carl’s family will receive friends for visitation at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5-8PM with an evening Rosary service at 7:15PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, February 25th with visitation at 10AM until Mass at 11AM at St John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Ave. Albion, MI.
