Chester C Truss

Chester Truss, age 65 of Albion passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in 1947 to Lavell and Celia Truss in Talladega, Alabama. He was married to Sara Spears who preceded him in death in 2000 then in 2005 he married Florence Snyder who survives.

Chester was a mail carrier for awhile then became Postmaster in several area towns, retiring in

2002 from the Parma Post Office. He attended church in Alabama and was founder of the Men’s Alabama Club and a former member of the Masons.

Chester is survived by:

Sons- Jabour C. Clark of Reno, NV

Stephen Ray Swinton of Lansing

Step-Son- Robin (Kelli) Etchison of Lansing

Step-Daughters- Darshann (Bobby) Stevenson of Lansing

Leah (Allen) Harris of Detroit

Tina Etchison of Lansing

Visitation for Family and Friends will be Monday December 26,2011from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. with the Family Hour at 7:00 P.M. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home,811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Services will be Tuesday December 27, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lewis Chapel A.M.E. Church, 522 West Center Street, Albion, Mcihigan 49224 with Pastor Donald L. Phillips III officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
