Daniel "Boothill" Woods

Mr. Daniel "Boothill" Woods passed away Monday, September 19, 2022. He was a resident of Hyden, Kentucky at the time of his passing. He was 87 years old. Daniel was born January 19, 1935 in Hyden, Kentucky the son of the late, Ruck Woods & Bertha (Jones) Woods. Daniel had previously been a resident of Michigan for 30 years. By occupation he was a tool & dye machinist. Daniel took great pride in gardening, hunting, and providing for his family. He enjoyed plowing with his mule Kate and Coco, and producing a bountiful garden year after year. He used his black smith skills he acquired from his father to shoe his own mule and horses. Daniel would raise and hunt with his prized Night Champion dogs.

Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved parents, loving & devoted wife, Mary Woods, cherished sons, Sherman Woods & James Gibson, cherished daughter, Theresa Woods, sisters, Helen Mullins, Zuba Begley & Daisy Fee and brothers, Sherman Woods, Richard Woods & Robert Woods. He leaves the following relatives surviving; cherished daughter, Cynthia Frederick & Ron, Englewood, Ohio, companion, Dorothy Heator, Hyden, KY. His grandchildren, Tonya Henson, Isaiah and Hope Hoard, Whitney Woods, Matthew Frederick, Mary Cronkhite, Daniel and Katia Cole, and Kevin Thacker II. He is also survived by a host of great grand children, and several neices and nephews.

Daniel’s family will receive visitors at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley DR., Albion on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11AM until the time of his funeral service at 12PM officiated by Pastor Estille Sizemore. He will be laid to rest in Whig Center Cemetery in Litchfield Twp.
