Dorothy Leona Oliphant-Fox

Dorothy Leona (Walker) Oliphant-Fox, Born in Wright County, Missouri April 16, 1931 to Charles H. “Tobe” and Elvia A. (Beckham) Walker, went to be at home with Jesus on June 30, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospice Home of Battle Creek. Dorothy was the youngest of 7 Children.

On February 16, 1948 she was married to Kermit J. Oliphant in Hartsville, MO, they were divorced in 1968. In 1995 she married Orrin C. Fox and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2000.

She attended Washington Gardner High School in Albion, she was a Licensed Beautician, she had worked at Corning Glass Works in Albion and also worked at Union Steel as a line worker. She enjoyed traveling after her retirement, playing Bingo, being with her family, she was an avid reader, and she enjoyed singing with her brothers and sisters in Evart, MI.

To the union of Kermit and Dorothy, 5 children were born, Joyce G (Merl) Coburn, Jack (Lynette) Oliphant, and JoAnn Generi, all of Albion; Jeania (Perry) Brown from Pierson, MI; and Judy (Douglas) Stephens of Allen, KY; 11 Grandchildren Michael (Missy) Combs, Crystal Combs, Lona Baker, Felicity Baker, Gregory Oliphant, Candice Generi, Brandice Generi, Ricky Generi, Shawn, B.J. and Misty Stephens; 19 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother Glenn Walker of Manes, MO; many loving nieces and nephews and 2 precious dogs Abby and Zeania. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her Mother Elvia in 1957, her father Charles in 1974, her oldest brother Earl Walker in 1974, her brother Paul Walker in 1987, her sister Spicy Bradshaw in 1994, her sister Erma Calhoun-Fox in 1994 , and her sister Lois Walker in 1936 at age 12.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be Monday July 2, 2012 from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. at the Riverside Baptist Church, 25255 M-60, Homer, MI 49245. Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church with Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens-Albion Township, MI.
