

Age 98 of Albion passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was born November 20, 1914, in Jackson, Michigan to Harry L. and Eva E. Konkle. She was raised in Jackson until her high school years when the family moved to Albion. She graduated from Albion High School in 1933. On April 27, 1938, she married Max Van Schoick, the love of her life.
She is survived by 3 sons- Jerry (Mary) Van Schoick (Manistee, Mich.) Jack
Van Schoick (Jackson, Mich.) and Keith (Ann) Van Schoick (Albion),
6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Gatha Konkle of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Max, daughter-in-law Carol Van Schoick, two brothers, Harry Konkle and Robert Konkle, sister, Phyllis Romanowski.
Dorothy was loved for her thoughtfulness in recalling birthdays and special events. Grandma's House was a favorite place
to visit, as she was always prepared with treats. You were always greeted with warm hugs, smile, a story about Grandpa
and Grandma and her famous chocolate chip cookies. She was loved by all of her quiet and friendly manner and lived
her life showing us all how to be a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at Oaklawn
Hospital in Marshall for their outstanding care and concern for all of us
while Dorothy was a patient.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM at
the Erie Street Chapel of J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 W. Erie Street, Albion.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 29 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with
Reverend Melissa Claxton officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
