

Edward Scott (“Scotty”) Cracraft of Northville, Michigan, formerly of Albion, Michigan passed away on November 23. Mr. Cracraft was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and grew up in Helena, Arkansas. He was the youngest son of Jean S. Scott and George K. Cracraft. He was preceded in death by his sister Katie Miller and brother Hon. George Knox Cracraft.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Comfort Cracraft, and his son, George K. Cracraft II. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cracraft, his sons, Edward Scott Cracraft, Jr. of Troy, New Hampshire and James L. Cracraft (Holly) of Northville, Michigan. He is also survived by granddaughters Jessica Cracraft of Albion and Grace Cracraft of Northville, Michigan, and grandsons Nicholas Cracraft of Detroit, Michigan and U.S. Navy Lt. Benjamin Cracraft of Pensacola, Florida as well as by three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cracraft attended the University of Mississippi and served as a U.S. Air Force officer with duty posts in South Korea and Germany. Following his retirement from the military, he worked for the Ford Motor Company as an accountant. Mr. Cracraft was an accounting professor at Adrian and then Albion College where he was loved and remembered by many students. Mr. Cracraft retired as Professor Emeritus at Albion College in 1997 and stayed connected to many of his students who became life-long friends. At Albion, he was very active in Greek life and served as the faculty advisor for fraternities.
He was also active in the VFW, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, 40 and 8, and other activities in the Albion Community and veterans community. He was proud of his southern heritage and enjoyed history and travel. He is remembered as a gentleman who never met a stranger, and a kind man who enjoyed his family and students.
Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2 at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home 811 Finley Dr., Albion, Michigan followed at 11:00 a.m. by a celebration of life.
