
Joanne spent many years working as a clerk at the former Shell on North Eaton Street in Albion, as well as for Walters-Dimmick under the Shell name. Her dedication to her work made her a well-known figure in the community. Joanne also owned one of the oldest homes in Albion, located at the corner of Eaton and Chestnut.
Joanne was married to Robert Rice II, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Browning, two grandsons, Jeremy O'Dell and Matt O'Dell and a great-granddaughter, Jadelynn Hammet.
She is survived by her children: Kelly O'Dell (Dave Anderson) of Camden, MI, Bobbi Browning of Lansing, MI, and Andy (Julie) Browning of Olivet, MI. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Amie (Henry) McKinney, Eric (Taylor) Browning, Cassie (Erik) Harvey, Johanna (Nathan) Cavender, Danielle Risko (Jeff Richard), Logan (Morgan) Browning, and Carmen Browning, as well as her twelve great-grandchildren. Joanne is also survived by her two sisters, Audrey Andrews and Shirley Vaupel.
Known as the Queen of QVC shopping, Joanne had a passion for traveling, with Branson, MO being one of her favorite destinations. She was an avid reader of classic romance novels and was known for her very quiet nature.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place, and services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
