John B. Banks

with his loving family by his side. He was born June 28, 1940 to Lonnie and Katie Mae (Sharp)

Banks Sr., in Albion, Michigan. On April 25, 1964 in Albion he married Betty Baldwin

who survives.

John worked at the State of Michigan as a Social Security Administrator for 30 years.

John was a quiet man with a good sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, yard sales,

and especially hanging out at the post office and at McAuliffe Park. John loved

spending time with his family and friends. He was also an active member of

Lewis Chapel for many years.

John is survived by:

Wife- Betty Banks

Daughter- Jaekel (Martin) Van Buren

Son- Christopher (Tricia Patterson) Banks

Brothers- Ralph Bloodworth

Lonnie (Margaret) Banks Jr.

Otis Banks

Sister- Imogene Parker

Numerous nieces and nephews

Special friend Countee Wilson

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Anna Robinson and a brother

James Banks.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the

Lewis Chapel AME Church, 522 W. Center Street, Albion, Michigan 49224 with

Reverend Donald L. Phillips III officiating. Family Hour will start at 10:00 A.M.

at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
