John Paul Soltis

John Paul Soltis, age 89 of Albion passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Medilodge of Marshall, Michigan surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 9, 1926 in Hartford, Connecticut to Jacob and Sophie (Gurovie) Soltis. He married the love on his life, Eleanor Post on June 22, 1949. To this union, three children were born.

John served our country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed Polka music, gardening and spending time with family and friends. John worked at the Union Steel Factory for approximately 42 years.

John will be greatly missed by all.

John’s great-granddaughters spent many hours of the day and lots of nights staying with their grandparents as John was not just a grandpa but a father figure too. He had a special connection with Jerrica, Amaya and Melissa (who was practically raised by John and Eleanor, where they spent every weekend and summer of their childhood and living with them from 9th grade until they was out on their own).

Per John’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
