Karin Lee McGee

Karin Lee McGee age 79 of Albion passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson. She was born March 16, 1942 in Bristol, CT the daughter of Vernon and Mildred (Moser) Blashke and they preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Richardson.

Karin attended Kalamazoo Community College and earned her Nursing Degree and worked as an RN before becoming a homemaker. She loved animals and would spend time volunteering at the Humane Society in Battle Creek. She also was a life-long learner, taking several classes, for fun to continue her education and was a past Aerobics Instructor, forming many friendships through that time, even meeting Jane Fonda. She was artsy and enjoyed trying new crafts and was an adventurous traveler, Africa (4 X’s), Brazil, Argentina and Vietnam were on her list of favorites. She loved flower gardening and enjoying the beauty at her home, calling it the “Zen Cottage”. Karin’s biggest accomplishment and love was her family and friends and spending time with them.

She leaves to cherish her memory her 3 Sons, Jeff (Debbie) Goodall of Auburn Hills, MI, Scott (Stacy) Goodall of Seattle, WA, Greg (Lisa) Goodall of Palm Bay, FL; 5 Grandchildren, Kyle, Cameron, Sean, Gabriela, Priscilla; 2 Great-grandchildren, Zoe and Gemma and Jokie, her cat.

Services to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 with visitation at 11AM until the time of service at 12PM with William Steere officiating at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan at https://hsscm.org/ or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
