LaRose Janie Bradley

Larose Janie Washington was born on February 18, 1942, in Albion MI to the late Hugh and Alice Washington. She married her husband, of 61 years, Morris Bradley, on June 9,1962. Through their union they were blessed with three sons and one daughter: Marcellus Bradley , Thorland (Lorena) of Virginia, Jonathan (Passion) of Oklahoma City, and daughter Temple (Stovall) of Albion MI.

Janie passed away under the love and care of her husband and family at University of Michigan hospital on December 20th.

Janie loved to learn and sew, and had a true talent for projects that involved building and renovation. She was passionate about education and was a devoted, lifelong learner. She loved to read and often shared her knowledge with others, frequently volunteering to teach and mentor youth.

Janie was a committed Christian and member of Grace Temple Church of God in Christ for 52 years.

Janie and her husband have 13 grandchildren: Kimbel, Teddi, Brandon, Avery, Governor, AmBre, Victory, Ariana, Calen, Kyla, Belevia, Nehemiah, Miles, and great grandchildren, Bradley and Armon.

She also leaves siblings: Brothers, Von (Fran) Washington, Starlon (Diane) Washington, Jerome (Delma) Washington of Michigan, Theodore Washington, and Angelo Washington of Colorado, Alfred Washington of California, and sisters Ramona (Earl) Truss, of Michigan, Sylvia (George) Baker of Oklahoma, and Phyllis Radney of Colorado, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Janie also had a number of special sister friends, Alma Mitchell, Martha Dysart, and Ruby Crum.

She is preceded in her passing by her parents Hugh and Alice Washington, son Marcellus Bradley, sister Alice Teresa Washington, brothers, Carlos, Phillip and Matthew Washington, brother-in –law George Radney, Mother-in-law Aquila Bradley, brother-in-law Roy Lester (Mary) Bradley, nephew Charles Bradley and special sister Beulah Greene.

Janie’s life was deeply enriched by all she knew and loved. Her laughter and wisdom will always be cherished, and her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
