Larry G. Mason

Larry G. Mason, 69, of Clarksville, MI, passed away on September 1, 2013 at his residence.

There will be a funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, September 6, 2013 with Fr. David Pike officiating at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM.

Born March 10, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, MI, he was the son of Wayne Mason and Wilma M. (Hicks) Mason. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother Wilbur (Bill) Mason, father- in-law Michael Basha and is survived by his wife Becky (Basha) Mason of Clarksville, MI.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian G. (Emily) Mason of Libertyville, IL; a daughter Kay L. Mason of Homer, MI; two grandchildren, Connor Mason and Lydia Mason of Libertyville, IL; his mother-in-law Frances Basha of Parma, MI; two brother-in-laws, Steve (Julie) Basha of El Macero, CA and Paul Basha of Phoenix, AZ ; in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mason was a 1962 graduate of Standish Sterling Central High School and a 1983 graduate of Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH where he obtained his Physician Assistant certification (PA-C). He was retired from the Michigan Army National Guard where he was a Chief Warrant Officer III and he had previously served In the U.S. Navy. He was most recently employed with the Ionia prison system where he worked as a Physician Assistant. He moved to Ionia County in 1987.
