He works at Sharpes Nursery for many years and retired from Rusty’s Tree Service.
He was married for 42 years to Avenell Compton. Survivors include Martha and Richard Kline of Albion, Marcie and Dale Greer of Livonia, MI, and Jason and Katrina Compton of Livonia, MI. He has 3 sisters Maxine Perry, Alberta Kobieal and Vicki Compton. He has 4 brothers Bill Keith of Indiana, Willie Compton, Russell Compton, and Ronnie Compton, all of Albion, MI.
He was preceeded in death by his sisters Joann Collins, Madgie Bryant, and three brothers Thomas Compton, Luther Compton, and Tracy Compton.
He had 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
James enjoyed time with his family. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips with his family. He loved working outdoors and working in his yard and garden.
