

Leonard Walter West, age 74 of Homer passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home under the loving care of his family and Oaklawn Hospice. He was born August 25, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Richard and Lucille (Crates) West. He married Robin Bronson on October 3, 1964 in Homer and she survives.
Leonard enjoyed woodworking, fishing, car shows, going to the casino and later on watching tv and playing with his beloved cat, Fiona. He was employed as a Machine Operator for Simpsons in Litchfield, starting in 1972 and retiring in 2001 after 29 1/2 years of dedicated service.
In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, Leonard is also survived by 2 daughters, Valerie (David) Coler, Tammy (Todd) Rockwell, son, Anthony "Tony" (Penny) West, sister, Luella Nyssen, 4 brothers, Leroy West, Melvin West, Jerry (Blanche) West, Gary West, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his little neighbor buddy, Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Tad Coler.
According to Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
