

Lillian Rosetta Harper-Coleman, age 71, the second eldest child born to Robert J. and Emma L. (Roberson) Harper on January 16, 1944 at her grandmother’s home in Sibley Louisiana. She was called to her heavenly reward on the morning of February 2, 2015.
She relocated to Albion Michigan in 1953, and later joined the Goodwill Singers in 1958, under the love and direction of Mrs. Willa Mae Pierson. She graduated from Washington Gardner High School in 1962, and is an Alumnus of Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance – with an Operatic Vocal emphasis.
Lillian wed DeVoene D. Coleman (1966), and had one son Christopher D. Coleman. She worked in Harrington and Dalrymple Schools as an Aide and Secretary, a cashier at Felpaush Food Center, and a Teller at Great Lakes Bank. She retired from State Farm Insurance – Fire Company, as a Policy Administration Assistant 5 (Evidence of Insurance) after 20 years.
She is preceded in death by both parents, and sisters Bessie and Roberta. To continue her memory she leaves: her husband and son; siblings: Anna Nelson, Evelyn Grey (William), Elvira McCrackin (Terry), Gwendolyn, Carl, Lori Harper-Parham (Acie), and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and sincere friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 from 10:00AM – 8:00PM with the family present at 5:00PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 711 Grace Street, Albion with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.
Interment will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11:30AM at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
