Marguerite Virginia Broxholm

“Marge’ Marguerite V. Broxholm went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 22nd, 2022 at the age of 95 and reunite with family & friends in Heaven. She was born December 29th, 1926. As a devoted mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, her independence, strength, grace & love will be profoundly missed.

Marge was born in Owosso, MI to Wesley & Ethel Morris. At a young age she moved to Albion, MI where she grew up with her mother & step-father, Charles L. Castle. She graduated from Albion High School and during that time she supported the war efforts by making bullet casings.

Marge met ‘Wally’ Wallace E. Broxholm and they were married on October 5th, 1946. Eventually, they had two sons & a daughter they adored. As the children grew, she became employed at Johnson Day Care where she loved working with children. She talked about her love for dancing & traveling with Wally before he preceded her in death on July 30th, 1994. Marge witnessed incredible changes in the world and was always willing to share memories from the past.

She found joy & purpose in the simplest things life had to offer. She enjoyed being in her yard and gardening both vegetables & flowers which she was still doing at the age of 94. She was an avid reader & loved to watch Jeopardy. She had an absolute passion for shopping and finding treasures along with dining out. Most importantly, Marge cherished visits and spending time with her family & took special delight being with the grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Marge lived a full, wonderful life. Her intelligence, beauty & kindness stood out & she brought good memories to everyone that had the opportunity to meet her. She will forever be in her family’s hearts.

She was preceded in death by her step father Charles L. Castle (1992), husband Wallace E. Broxholm (1994), and mother Ethel Castle (1999), son Alan Broxholm (2022)

She is survived by her loving children: son, Keith (Lugene) Broxholm of Jackson, MI, daughter, Sharon (Rob) Hurd of Marshall, MI & daughter in law, Judy Broxholm of Homer, MI. Marge is also survived by her grandchildren: Mark Broxholm of Jackson, MI, Dawn (Duane) Pape of Marquette, MI, Melissa Broxholm of Jackson, MI, Scott (Hope) Broxholm of Galesburg, MI, Leslie Hurd of Marshall, MI, Jenna (Bill) Begg of Marshall MI, Darrick (Calah) Hurd of Temecula, CA, & Brett Broxholm of Jackson, MI , Trent (Mellissa) Sildack of Jackson, Mirinda Sildack of Sacramento, CA. Great grandchildren: Hanna & Cooper Brockelbank, Aleah Yinger, Lucas & Tessa Broxholm, Landen Hurd, Addilynn Nelson, Isabella Sildak & Aspen Hurd

A private service will be held in her honor at Chapel Cemetery.
