

Born in Albion on October 7, 1927 to parents George and Nellie (Mann) Hudachek, Marjorie graduated from Washington Gardner High School in 1944 and married her high school sweetheart, Sherwood James Poirier, in 1945. Marjorie and Sherwood were married for 55 years until his death in June 2000.
Above all else, Marjorie enjoyed life as a wife, mother and homemaker. She demonstrated patience, self-reliance and humility throughout her life and in relationships with family and friends. She was an incredible and precise seamstress, frequently sewing clothes for family and passing down the skills through the generations.
She is survived by her five children, Patricia Poirier-Bradley of Quincy MI, James Poirier of Albion MI, Tom Poirier of Battle Creek MI, Susan (Lee) Sorg of Grand Rapids MI and Laura (David) Mangan of Grand Rapids MI, ten grandchildren Christi (Ted) Thelen, Kevin (Rachel Hartwick) Bradley, Sherrill (Shawn) Mackay, Jennifer (Mike Apling) Watson, Patrick (Shelby) Mangan, Brendan (Katie) Mangan, Ryan Mangan, Corey Sorg, Leah Sorg, Erin Mangan, along with several great- and great-great- grandchildren.
Marjorie is proceeded in death by her husband Sherwood Poirier, sister Edna Sheldon, and grandson Christopher Bradley.
Visitation will be held at 10am on Monday, July 18th at St. John Catholic Church in Albion, Michigan followed by a funeral Mass service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, Marjorie’s request was for donations to support St. Jude Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38102) or the Calhoun County Humane Society (165 Union St S, Battle Creek, MI 49014)
