Mary Virginia Martin

She was born June 29, 1934 in Jackson, Kentucky the daughter of Bige and Elizebeth (Calahan) McKnight. She married Henry Martin and he preceded her in death along with a son, Garry Martin, fiance Michael Pratt, and grandson, Nick Sitcler. The siblings who preceded her, born of Elizebeth, were Ray, Charlie, Bige Jr., Eaf, Martha, Omajen, Maxine, and Tillie McKnight. Her mother died when she was young and her father got remarried. The siblings that preceded her from that marriage were Oren, Henry, and Walter.

Mary was raised in Kentucky, raised her family in Albion, MI, and then lived in Las Vegas for several years and then resided with her daughter and son in law in Litchfield, MI. Mary enjoyed bargain shopping and eating out at different restaurants. She was always on the go. She enjoyed stopping for ice cream, going to karaoke to listen to the bad singing, and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory two children: Shelly (Daniel) Efstathiou and Rex Edward (Florence “Gee”) Martin, grandchildren: Leah (Kevin) Dunn, Jeff Johnson, Robin Johnson, and Steve Sitcler, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings Lilly, Virgil, Christopher Wayne, Larry, and Arthur.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to Celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 6630 W. Litchfield Rd., Litchfield, MI with Pastor Brent Stille officiating.
