
In 1993 he married Joyce Oliphant who survives.
Merlin was a lifelong resident of Albion and Homer. He worked as a Core Setter with Hayes Albion for 25 Years. He was also a Union Representative for the AFL-CIO.
He loved country music, collecting clocks, watches and lava lamps. Merlin loved sports, his cat, bird watching, yard sales and keeping up on current events. Merlin was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge in Albion

Visitation- for family and friends will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 2:00-4:00P.M. and 6:00-8:00P.M. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan
Graveside Service- will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 13,2012 at Albion Memory in Albion Township with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating
Assistance with Memorial Contributions to the Riverside Baptist Church is available at the funeral home.
