He is survived by his son, Namon Scholz, his daughter, Raechel Scholz (Matt Snyder), his sister Paula Clark, his granddaughter, Mia Snyder, and countless friends-who-became-family along the way.
His passion was helping kids. He worked 26 years at Starr Commonwealth and 17 years as the director of Jackson Northwest alternative high school. He also spent multiple decades coaching kids in every sport imaginable. He combined his other passions, travel and writing, when he recently completed his first book "Embark" which chronicled his trip backpacking through Europe in his early twenties.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm at the
Ismon House in Albion and the family asks that you share your best Pops/Butch/Duke/Deacon/Coach/ Mr. Scholz stories.
