
Raymond J. Weller, 96, of Albion passed away Sunday May 29, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 9, 1915 in Arcada Township, Gratiot County, MI to George and Edith (Williams) Weller. On November 2, 1940, he was married to Ileen Anderson in Ovid Township, MI and she preceded him in death January 19, 2009.
He was employed at Henry Ford Farms in Ann Arbor from 1936-1942; from 1942 -1960 he worked for Aurora Gas Company which was bought out by Marathon Oil in 1960 ; he then moved to Albion in 1960 and he worked for Marathon Oil as a Pumper until 1977 when he retired. He wintered in Florida for 30 years; he had a stand at the Festival of the Forks every year selling woodworking items; He enjoyed gardening, yard work, lighthouses, all kinds of crafts and he especially loved animals.
He is survived by 1 Daughter Sharon Weller; and 1 Son Daniel (Myrna) Weller both of Albion;3 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; daughter in law Marcy Weller of Coldwater; sister in law Helen Weller of Middleton, MI. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his Parents; son Dennis; 3 Brothers Cliff, Harold, and Wayne Weller; 3 Sisters Maxine Reitz, Doris Misenhelder, and Armilla Hovey.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be Wednesday June 1, 2011 from 5:00 -8:00 P.M. and again from 12:30 -1:30 P.M. on Thursday June 2, 2011 at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Services will be Thursday June 2 at 1:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bobbie Weller officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens Cemetery- Albion Township.
