Wayne Arthur Powers

Wayne Arthur Powers age 88 of Olivet passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at Country Woods Assistant Living in Potterville, MI. He was born February 8, 1934 in Hamlin Twp, MI the son of Lansing Ray and Genovee (Williams) Powers. He was united in marriage to Shirleen Wyatt on June 5, 1954 in Springport and she survives.

Wayne served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Hayes Albion for 47 years until his retirement. He loved to work on cars, go squirrel hunting and could be heard often recounting fond memories of growing up on the family farm as well as all his times spent fishing.

In addition to his loving wife of almost 68 years, Shirleen, Wayne is also survived by 5 children: Patty Tarpley, Steven Powers, Rodney (Stephanie) Powers, Jennifer Oberlin, Sarah (David) Ewers, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Martha Proteau, Christina Richardson.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Melvin and Lansing Powers, 4 sisters, Gloria Seifert, Bethel Kaiser, Goldie Putnam, Betty Lou Reynolds, son-in-law, Ron Oberlin and granddaughter, Becky Powers.

Services for Wayne will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 with visitation beginning at 12PM until the time of service at 1PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI with Greg Harger officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens with full military honors.
