

. William “June” Thompson Jr., 78 of Albion departed from this life on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Dimondale Nursing Care Center in Dimondale Mi. He was born December 1, 1936 to the late William Thompson Sr. and Estella Williams of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was the older of two sons. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Beach Land Missionary Baptist Church in Port Gibson, Mississippi. In 1941, he came to Albion MI at age 11 and attended Albion Public Schools. He later met and married Maryl Cook in January of 1960. William served the Albion community as an ambulance driver and a police officer. He completed his career at Goodyear Tires Company in Jackson MI. During that time, he joined Grace Temple of God and Christ Church.
He had a nomadic nature and love to visit family and friends. He was known for competitive nature challenging anything and everything. He often talked about the love of his sons and how proud he was of them. We thank God for allowing him to share his love, giving heart, and personality for 78 years.
William was adored and leaves behind to celebrate his life: special friend Maryl Cook of Albion, three sons, James D. Thompson (Mary Ellen) of Lansing, Nathan L. Thompson (Lori)of Albion, and William Brian Thompson of Lansing, six grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Tyre Thompson, Michaela Thompson, Tanisha Thompson, Alexus Root, Cheyenne Thompson, five great grandchild Micah Roberts, Elijah Dark, Mykaki R. Thompson, Janonte and Shonda Balkely.
He was preceded in death by his father William Thompson Sr.; his Mother Estella Wilson; his brother Walter L. Thompson; and daughter in law Willette Thompson.
According to his wishes, Cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be
held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00AM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home,
811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224 with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.
Family Hour will take place one hour prior to service.
