

Allen was born on February 8, 1943, to George and Helen Duncan in Clinton, IA. He graduated from Bettendorf High School, and attended Iowa State University, and St. Ambrose College. He met his wife, Ruth Ann in high school, and they were married in March of 1964. They had 1 daughter, Christine.
Allen worked in the accounting departments for Oscar Mayer, Pillsbury, and eventually took a job with Cook Industries in Memphis, in 1973. He later joined Federal Express, now known as FedEx, where he had a 40-year career working in accounting, and eventually the International Division. He retired in 2019 as a Senior Regional Systems Advisor/International Global Trade Programs Project Manager and Analyst. He enjoyed meeting and working with co-workers in other countries, and his career allowed him and Ruth Ann to travel around the U.S., as well as other countries.
Allen enjoyed fishing, boating, Memphis Grizzlies basketball, and spending time with his family. He was a loving and supportive husband, dad, and papaw to Molly and Katie Rose.
He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Ruth Ann; daughter, Christine Carnes and her husband, Barry Carnes; granddaughters Molly Mullendore and her husband, Andrew, and Katie Rose Sullivan and her husband Alex; as well as two great-grandchildren, Nora Drew Mullendore and Parker Sullivan. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, George Duncan, Jr. and Randy Duncan.
The family welcomes friends for a Visitation at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens on, February 8, 2025, from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm, with a Funeral Service to follow.
