

Barbara was born on August 17, 1939, in Danielson, Connecticut. She grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. Barbara nurtured her family with unwavering love and faith and was blessed with many long-lasting friendships throughout her life.
As a young woman, Barbara worked for many years at the Poughkeepsie Telephone Company before continuing her career at Hudson River State Hospital. She later retired from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was deeply admired for her involvement in local outreach centers, where she offered guidance, compassion, and comfort to those in need.
Barbara is survived by her four adult children: Norine Morse, David Rossbach, Debra Petrose, and Theresa Molfetta; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great joy and pride in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years John Rossbach, son Patrick Rossbach, daughter Linda Palmatier, and grandson Nicholas Vertullo.
A public memorial celebrating Barbara’s life and faith will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY 12538, officiated by Father Steven Bosomafie.
Barbara will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the love she so generously shared with everyone she touched.
