Betty Magnolia Avalos

Betsy was a hard working and dedicated employee at Elavon for 20 years. She was a caring and loving Assistant Manager, coworker and friend to many at her job.

Betsy was a loving and supportive wife to Gabriel, her husband of 23 years, an amazing mother to daughters Isabella and Layna, a dedicated daughter, a loving sister, an adventuresome Aunt, and a wonderful friend to many. She learned to play soccer so she could coach her daughter's soccer teams and she was like a second mom to several of her daughter's teammates.

Betsy was always taking care of those around her. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She often volunteered to help the less fortunate within her community and often volunteered at her daughters' schools, while teaching her daughters to do the same.

Betsy was a rock to many and glue that always brought everyone together whenever she was around. She always filled a room with laughter and joy and made sure everyone she knew felt loved. She was the heart of the family. She was a hero to many and even in death as an organ and tissue donor she continues with her legacy of helping others.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Katherine “Granny Pooh”, and Luther Ford, Lucy and John Havens, Justina Jaimes, Estela Hernandez and a special Aunt Neura Magnolia Havens,

She is survived by her husband Gabriel Avalos, daughters, Isabella Avalos and Layna Avalos, parents, Clint and Betty Ford, sisters: Tammy Ford, Lynn Gonzalez and husband Antonio, Julie Roark and husband Jamie, nephews and nieces: Christian Gonzalez “the favorite” and girlfriend Olivia, Zoe Carter, and Richard Gonzalez and “girlfriend” Zoë Chapman as well as several special Aunts, Uncles and cousins; fur babies, Maxie, Capi, Mittens, and fur brother Buddy.

Services will be conducted at The First Church of God in Broadford Virginia at a later date and time. Please contact a family member for information related to the service date and time.

Donations may be made toward Betsy’s husband and children in lieu of flowers if desired.

Aprendió a jugar fútbol para poder entrenar los equipos de fútbol de su hija y fue como una segunda madre para varios de los compañeros de equipo de su hija.

Betsy siempre estaba cuidando a quienes la rodeaban. Nunca conoció a un extraño y siempre estuvo dispuesta a echar una mano a los necesitados. A menudo se ofrecía como voluntaria para ayudar a los menos afortunados dentro de su comunidad y, a menudo, trabajaba como voluntaria en las escuelas de sus hijas, mientras les enseñaba a hacer lo mismo.

Betsy era una roca para muchos y un pegamento que siempre unía a todos cuando ella estaba cerca. Ella siempre llenaba una habitación con risas y alegría y se aseguraba de que todos los que conocía se sintieran amados. Ella era el corazón de la familia. Ella fue una heroína para muchos e incluso en su muerte como donante de órganos y tejidos, ella continuó con su legado de ayudar a los demás.
