Dorothy "Dottie" Standridge

Dottie was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was marked by deep love for her family. She loved her family with a passion and cherished every opportunity to spend time together, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

An avid reader, Dottie could often be found with a good book in hand, always eager to learn or lose herself in a story. She also had a love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation. Her gentle heart extended to all of God’s creatures— especially birds, cats, and dogs, which brought her endless joy.

For 30 years, Dottie made her home with her great aunt, Marie. The family is eternally grateful for the loving care, support, and companionship they shared during those years, a bond that meant so much to them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Newell Sr. and Doris Standridge; her brother, Newell Standridge Jr.; and her sister, Debbie Petree.

She is survived by her siblings, Tim (Teresa Wilson) Standridge, Jan Standridge, Denise Jarnigan, and Dawn (Jeff) Haynes, sister-in-law Sandy Standridge, along with many nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.

Dottie’s faith, compassion, and steadfast devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of the Lord.

The family welcomes friends to a Funeral Service on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2pm, at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens.
