

Jack was a man of deep faith and steadfast dedication; a lifelong member of the Baptist faith whose values guided his life. He proudly served his country for 21 years on Active Duty in the United States Air Force, where he worked in administrative roles and assisted in the management of ROTC programs. His military career was marked by professionalism and commitment, earning him numerous medals, including the Meritorious Service Commendation Medal, before his Honorable Discharge.
Following his military service, Jack continued to serve his community and mentor young people. He worked at Heritage High School and William Blount High School as an NCO and ROTC Instructor, positively impacting countless students. He later spent ten years at the Military Entrance Processing Station, continuing his lifelong dedication to supporting those who chose to serve.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara Burdette Haven; his daughter, Carol Haven Saunders; his parents, William M. Haven and Frances M. Haven; and his siblings, Bill, Charlie, Mary, Norma, Ronnie, Bob, and Jim.
He is survived by his children, Timothy J. (Debra) Haven and Judy Haven; his son-in-law, Steve Saunders; his grandchildren, Timothy “T.J.” Graham, Jacqueline “Jackie” Stubblefield, William “B.J.” Haven, and Jonathan Kundinger; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Ed (Barbara) Haven and Edith.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to UT Palliative Care and UT Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Jackson Ray Haven will be remembered for his unwavering sense of duty, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family, faith, and country. His legacy of service and integrity will live on in the many lives he touched.
The family welcomes friends to a Visitation on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11:30am-12:30pm, at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:30pm and an Entombment to follow.
