

He was born near Lenoir City, TN, and moved to Greenback at an early age to his family’s dairy farm on the bend of the Little Tennessee River. Harry graduated from Greenback High School in 1962. He was married to Anna Jane Franklin for 14 years and they had three children. He retired after 30 years from Maremont Corporation where he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic. After retirement, he resided at his home on Tellico Lake and was an avid volunteer mower for the neighborhood. Harry will always be known for his infectious smile and kind, easy-going manner. He was a devoted attendee to all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and extra-curricular events. His presence will be greatly missed.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents I.M. and Flora Lou Denton and brother Dale Denton.
He is survived by children Jeff (Lotta) Denton of Easton, Maryland, Jamie (Rex) Lynch of Clinton, TN, and Dayna (Ted) Streussnig of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Zach Denton, Anna Denton, Sofia (Logan) Hammon, Jens Denton, Jake (Bethany) Lynch, Clint (Ashlee) Lynch, and Lindsey Pennington; great-grandchildren Emmie, Luca, Shia, Cohen, Renlee, Emma, Rivie, and Landon; and brother Hugh (Mary Lee) Denton of Marietta, Georgia. Harry leaves behind a large, loving group of family, friends, and neighbors.
