eternal mansion over the hilltop on November 21, 2025, reuniting with many loved ones and furbabies she held
near to her heart.
She was born October 18, 1944 in Knoxville, Tn to late Howard Franklin “Tubby” Moneymaker and Marie Shehan
Moneymaker. Judy raised 5 children and is survived by Angela (Robert) Curran of Cortland, Ohio; David (Carla) Cole
of Champion, Ohio; and Ronnie (Melissa) Harris of Mascot, TN. She is also survived by step sons, Kent Fairbanks of
Howland, Ohio and Kerry (Erin) Fairbanks of Canfield, Ohio. She married their father, Charles “Chuck” Fairbanks on
November 16, 1981, where they shared a blended family lifestyle, until his passing in 2007. Together, they share
42 grandchildren spanning 3 generations. She was affectionately known as “Gramma Mother”. Additionally, she is
survived by her brother Franklin (Thersia) Moneymaker, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Judy offered a pillar of strength, the biggest unconditionally loving heart, and a foundation of support with the
sweetest twinkle of comfort in her eyes when she smiled. She was both a mother and father to her children, and
made many sacrifices while enduring many obstacles in life - ensuring her children and grandchildren were raised
with love, understanding, and never went without. But most importantly, she provided a safe haven that family
knew they could retreat to, and ultimately call home. For this, there’s an unwavering amount of gratitude from her
children and next generations.
While her life centered on family, you could typically find Judy sitting out on the porch, listening to nature – or the
latest phone update from family - sipping coffee, tea, or coca cola while having a smoke, with the company of her
furbabies at her feet. Occasionally, she and her mama would go to the beach in Florida, and she’d watch the
waves of the ocean, but don’t ask her to ever go in! The little girl in her would appear when she would play the
accordion (which we all very much loved listening to and seeing her at her happiest). We all loved showing off the
multitude of stylish, well-made, and full of love sewing projects she created. Not too many could tolerate visiting
without wearing a winter coat in her cool, crisp 65 degree house – no matter the season – and she’d have quite the
chuckle when you wore a coat inside. You could count on holiday dinners being at her house with some of the
fondest memories to include helping prep the house, the food, and even wrapping the Christmas presents so they
could be placed just right around the tree – and a lot of jokes and laughter. In the more recent years, she
preferred the warmth and often bundled up like those she chuckled over. Until about 6 weeks ago, she would
spend her time with her best friend and confidant, Princess Cloe “Babydog”, snuggling, watch various television
shows, discussing daily life, and planning their great escape back to the mountains.
She is preceded in death by children – Gerald (Susan) Cole and Annette Harris Kee; grandson – Tyler Kee; Gerald
Lynn Cole (Father of Angela, Gerald, & David); Ronald Bruce Harris (Father of Ronnie & Annette); brother – Darrell
Moneymaker; all of her well loved furbabies.
Her family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Hospice House for their support and
care during her final week.
Per Judy’s wishes, there will be no services. The Smokey Mountains were always home and she will forever have
her place in the mountains as she lay to rest eternally.
Mother, We Love You, Babydoll.
