

She was born and raised in McAlester, OK. She had 4 siblings: Ralph Wood, Jack Wood, Helen Lenardo, and Louise Morris, whom she loved dearly. She had a host of nieces and nephews that she cherished. June spent her later years in Tennessee and Mississippi. She was known for her warm heart, steady faith, and the unwavering care and love that she gave to those around her.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Winston Cocke, and her son, Chris Jeffries. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Carol Cocke Todd (Wayne Todd), Chris Jeffries (Laurie Whitehead), Susan Jeffries Tyler (Robert Tyler), and June Lee Jeffries Morgan (Freddy Morgan). Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her life into nurturing and supporting them. She was a wonderful Christian example for them and she led by her example.
Being a grandmother was one of her greatest treasures. She cherished every moment that she was able to spend with her 4 grandchildren - Daniel Jeffries (Linsey Parker), Natalie June Tyler Tribble (Chad Tribble), Elliot Jeffries (Rebekah Jeffries), and Lane Morgan Cooper (Kevin Cooper). She was also a cherished great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable pride and happiness.
June was a dedicated registered nurse. She earned her nursing degree at Memphis State University. She spent many years practicing nursing at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. She cared for her patients with skill, patience, and genuine compassion. She took great pride in her work and was known for her steady presence and comforting spirit. Nursing was not simply her profession—it was one of the many ways she showed love and kindness to those around her.
June loved the Lord deeply. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Her faith guided every part of her life. She cherished her family, her church, and her many dear friends. She was always finding ways to serve—whether through a warm meal, a handwritten note, a listening ear, or quiet acts of kindness. Her life was a testimony of love in action.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and tireless dedication to serving others. Her love, prayers, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701, on March 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, and the committal service will follow at 1:00 PM.
