

BOILEAU, James Age 83, originally of Port Coquitlam, died Sunday night, December 28, 2014. 'Jimmy' was born in Port Coquitlam, BC, July 11, 1931. He grew up in Port Coquitlam where, as a teenager, he was both a barber with his father at "Gene and Jimmy's Barbershop" and a volunteer fireman. He later became one of the first four firemen to be a paid firefighter in PoCo. He spent almost fifty years serving the community before retiring as Fire Chief in July 1991. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Ingalive "Dolly" Boileau. Jimmy (Poppa as he was later called by his loving grandchildren) and Dolly moved from PoCo to Maple Ridge, eventually settling in Langley to be closer to family. He is survived by daughters Debbie Birnie (Glenn) and Kathy Rutz (Doug); grandchildren Kevin (Julie), Travis, Randi (Kurtis) and Kenny; great-granddaughters Charil-Mae and Madi and his sister Aggie Boechler. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Port Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Society of BC.
