Ruth Margarette Burke

Ruth Margarette Burke (nee Thompson), late of Aldergrove, BC, formerly of Perth, ON, passed away on March 9, 2024, in her 90th year. She is survived by her loving family: her beloved daughter, Kellie (Trevor) Buchanan; grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole; her brother, Bruce (Olive) Thompson; as well as numerous family members and many dear friends. Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Burke; her parents, Lorne and Margarette Thompson; and her brothers, Boyd Thompson and Rodger Thompson.

Ruth started her nursing career in Ontario and continued on in Vancouver, BC, until she and her husband, Ron, purchased the Riverside Motel in Princeton, BC. After retiring in 2002 and the passing of Ron, she moved to Aldergrove, BC, to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and was an active participant in her community at the Veterans and Seniors Society as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.

Ruth lived a full life. Her kind and generous soul touched everyone she met. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
