

Billie was a graduate from Little Rock Central High School. At age 45, she graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy as the oldest women to complete the course. She was a criminal investigator for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. Following that, she was head of security for the Little Rock Convention Center where she retired. She loved singing and was a long-standing member of Sweet Adelines International where she served in various positions including Regent and Director of the Magnolia and Hot Springs Chapters. She also sang with Top of the Rock Chorus and various quartets including ones with her daughters.
Billie and her late husband, Joe Bill, were active members of Arkansas Good Sam where they held various offices and made lifelong friendships. She was a member of Doxology Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Her greatest joy and pride however were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Billie is preceded in death by her daughter Patti Anne Young, husband Joe Bill, sister Betty Lane, brothers Frank Haley and Buck Haley, and mother Ada Robinson. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jo Wasser, son-in-law, Wayne Wasser, grandson Kyle Wasser and wife, Kristy, granddaughter Amy Jo Johnson and husband, David, and great grandchildren Asher Johnson, Tatton Wasser, and Holland Wasser. The family wishes to thank the staff at MaxServe Hospice of Fort Worth, Texas, and everyone at Morada Assisted Living of Burleson, Texas, who took such great care of her during her time there, especially at the end.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:30pm at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander AR 72202, with Wayne Wasser officiating. Billie will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, in Alexander, Arkansas.
