Donald McClellen King, aka Uncle Donut, lost his battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer and went to his eternal home on July 1, 2020. He was born on November 20, 1961 to Marvin King SR and Linda Toussaint. Born and raised in Battle Creek Michigan, Don graduated from Bryant High School, after the family relocated to Little Rock. After Graduation, Don entered the United States Marine Corps, where he would call home for 14 years. A veteran of foreign affairs, Don served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Don was employed at Dewafflebakkers in Maumelle, AR as a maintenance/refrigeration supervisor before falling ill.
Don was a devout Christian, and he had been baptized into the Morman Faith. He has been saved, and he made his peace with God before his final days. Don had a two-year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. He always had a very positive outlook and constantly made his caregiving staff laugh. A special thanks to Andrea Chronister, nurse case manager of David Dubois One Million Voices Foundation, and all the staff at the VA and UAMS hospitals. A special thanks to our neighbors and friends that cooked for us, watched out over us, purchased Legos, and my sisters MSM '84 that helped us so much!
Don is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Toussaint of Bryant, AR, and his brother Harold King of Alexander, AR. He is survived by his father, Marvin King SR of Cincinati, OH, wife Barbara Brewington King and three children: Steven (Emily) King of Coal City, Ill, Mikayla (Dylan) and granddaughter Callie Loeschner, all of Pensacola, FL, and Zachary King of Little Rock, AR, sister Mikki Malinowski of Albion, MI, brother Marvin Jr (Sherry) King of Marysville, CA, brother Ron King of Dallas, Tx, brother Scott King of Shannon Hills, AR, sister-in-law Sue (Harold) King Morgan of Alexander, AR, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, fellow brothers and sisters of the Marine Corps that he valued so deeply.
A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 AR-5 Alexander, AR on Monday July 6th at 1 pm. The family has requested blue jeans or overalls with t-shirt attire.
