Edward Michael Stewart, 67, of Alexander, AR, passed away on February 2, 2021 with his beloved sister by his side.

Edward or "Ed" as people called him, was born in Lagrange, GA on July 6, 1953. His parents were Charles L. Stewart Sr. and Dermel R. Stewart. He was the baby of three children. He graduated from Metropolitan High School in Little Rock, AR in 1972. He was a supervisor in the mail room at Safeway for 20 years. After that door closed, he went on to receive his CDL license in 1993. He started driving a truck for USA Trucking. Then he decided that on the road trucking was not for him alone so he coaxed his brother-in-law to start team driving for TNT Logistics. They made lots of great memories over the years.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Stewart Sr., and his devoted mother, Dermel R. Stewart.

Leaving to celebrate his life is lots of friends and family but especially his children; Amanda "Mandy" Stewart (Charles Allen) and Melissa Jenson. He also has two siblings; Charles "Bud" Stewart Jr. (Wanda) and Marcella "Marcy" Adams (Roger) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces to carry on his love.

It is an honor for Charles "Bud" L. Stewart, Jr., Roger Adams, Charles "Chuck" Stewart III, James "Brian" Stewart, Heath A. Kendrick, Charles "Allen" Skinner along with Jason Skinner (honorary) to carry Ed to his final resting place.

Ed loved life, family, friends, music, Midtowne Church, living at Lake Norrell and his beloved companion, "Angel". He had a special place in his heart for his sister, Marcy. She would meet his second grade teacher and take Ed in her arms so he would get home safe. Ed only weighed 29 pounds in the second grade. She made sure he was taken care of all of his life until the last breath he took. Ed had a contagious laugh and smile that would make anyone feel loved. Ed never met a stranger. We need more people in this world like Ed.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 10th with his celebration of life at 2:00 pm in the Pinecrest Funeral Home Chapel, 7401 Highway 5N, Alexander, AR. Burial is in the Family Estates section of Pinecrest Memorial Park. Doug Pruitt will be officiating the service. Masks are required.

Ed, my sweet brother, I miss you so bad
Everyday! I wake up thinking about you.
And I fall asleep thinking about you.
I know I don’t have to worry about you now.
I know you are in God’s house with all our love ones that has gone before you. You have no pain, no sadness. you can walk. I don’t worry about that......I just miss you. I know We will see you again, and I will here that beautiful laugh and see that smiling face. Love and Miss you so much. Love Sis

How could I possibly express what Uncle Ed meant to me in such few words? He was my great-uncle, and he was nothing short of great.

Uncle Ed always made me laugh until I cried. We always sat by each other at every meal to try to keep each other in line. (That never worked). He taught me so much about how to live life to the fullest and never take a day for granted.

There will be so many times that I miss with him. Playing games like Bingo and Yahtzee will be memories I will cherish forever. Getting a call on a Tuesday in April to let me know the 1983 Cowboys were on tv never got old. We shared a love of music and sports that bonded us as thick as thieves.

Although we might not be together today, the memories you’ve given me will last forever. I love you Uncle Ed. You are greatly missed.

Uncle Ed and I had a musical bond that created a lifetime love of all types of music from the Amazing Rhythm Aces to Arcadia, blues, country, and pop.

We would shop all day on Christmas Eve and get home late without anything wrapped. Although it irritated some, we just laughed because of all the fun we had.

I remember working at the bank on Geyer Springs. The ladies in the drive thru would call me in the front several times asking me to call you because you had left with the canister again. I would call you at Safeway only to hear you busting out laughing.

Uncle Ed kept all of my secrets and was my partner in crime in some of those. He taught me how to be a non traditional Aunt.

I will miss our times but I will see him again. Of course, we will have to best behavior then. Soar High, Uncle Ed! I know you will be watching over me. RIL
