

Elmer Leroy Davis died at the age of 102 on November 29, 2025 at Hospice Home Care Comfort Center in Little Rock. He was born on November 21, 1923, in Drasco, Arkansas to Edna (Sizemore) and Boyd L. Davis. He was the fifth of 11 children.
He married Juanita Martin and they had 73 happy years together. She precedes him in death. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Kay Moore.
He was the father of Jerry Davis (Angela) of Sherwood; Cathy Hensley (David) of Bryant; and Jeffrey Davis (Ann) of Beaufort, SC. Other family members are eleven grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one surviving sibling, Esta Dacus of Batesville.
Elmer was a retired school teacher having taught in Pine Bluff and Little Rock for a total of twenty seven years. He was gifted in designing and building many kinds of things out of wood and metal.
He served three years in the Navy with duty in the Pacific during WWII as an attachment to the Marines as a Pharmacist’s Mate 2nd Class. He was awarded the Purple Heart after action on the Island of Peleliu.
Elmer was always active in the Baptist Church where he would serve as Deacon as well as a leader of Outreach Programs. After retirement from teaching he acted in the role of maintenance supervisor at Life Line Baptist Church using his many handyman skills.
Funeral services will be on Friday December 5, 2025, 11:00a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park with Michael Hamline, grandson-in-law officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Forrest Hills Cemetery on Highway 5.
